Saturday, November 19, 2011 The Resurrection of the Enzo - Special Report

Road & Track relationship with Richard Losee goes back several years and covers a wide variety of vehicles belonging to him and his father, including our long-term test of his Ferrari Enzo. R & T Losee called and asked if we would take a test drive with his new Ferrari supercar in 2003, clearly indicating that this model very limited production is not available for testing procedures routine. Losee agreed with enthusiasm. Because of their generosity, we sent our team to Losee home in Utah to take the examination and photography of our July 2003 edition. And what a team we sent: Ferrari drivers world champion Phil Hill, a longtime partner of R & T photographer John Lamm, director Richard Baron Design and Road Test Editor Patrick Hong.

The test was fabulous, like the Enzo and a few days later, several of our team members in Utah, Nevada and Southern California for the performance test has accumulated about 1,500 miles on the new Ferrari Losee, and creation of several test records I + T.

Take a look at Enzo Ferrari splashing into the Atlantic in 2011 Targa Newfoundland

Many of you have followed the 2011 Targa Newfoundland here at Auto Blog, what about our own Zach Bowman competitors. Perhaps you were surprised to find that rare super car like a Maserati MC12 and the Ferrari Enzo went in demanding races.

Unfortunately, Enzo has bowed out early after taking a turn for the worse when he lost control and plunged into the Atlantic Ocean on a coastal road. The Enzo was tried (and owner) by Zahir Rana, also owns ZR Auto Exotic car dealership. Ferrari produced 400 Enzos, and of those, Rana is one of the fastest road-legal, having been changed to similar specifications as an FXX. He settled in Germany to deliver a staggering 850 horses and took a 00-60 km / h in 2.8 seconds from.

We were able to get a couple of quick glimpses of the Enzo, with Rana and his navigator, Roland Linder, the title of Ocean thanks to Kia Canada. Kia is also marked with the breed, and was waiting in front of the Forte Koup to come to the same curve in the road.

Rana has released a video, you can find after the jump, which clearly indicates his disappointment, but his reasoning and reflection on what was happening. He certainly has the right frame of mind, which explains how these things happen to compete and he is lucky that she and her teammates were unharmed event. He is also the link, unfortunately, to say: "It 'just a machine, not a big problem."

We fully agree with Rana, but the same reason, is to have the incident happens to a car currently estimated at 1.5 million crowns like throwing salt on the wound for amateurs and experts in car insurance everywhere.

Follow the jump to watch the video of the devastating Enzo Rana a hill and landing in the ocean, with a video walk around the vehicle before the Targa Newfoundland began.

It would be rare, but this is a beautiful sight on the highway, but because of its limited availability, it is possible that the majority of the owners of this supercar to push somewhere in the garage must be considered.
